What is Factopious?

When you need to make a point — in a presentation, in an email, on Twitter or anywhere — look to Factopious to provide you with clear facts with links to the supporting article. That way, you can read the article from which the fact was taken to determine the context before you cite the fact in your presentation.

When you run across facts that seem useful, you can store them in Factopious, too. Just register for an account and then pull the Bookmarklet into your browner toolbar. Then, no matter where you on the web, adding facts is just a few clicks away.

Can you give me an example?

Sure. Click the "Random" button at the top of the page. You'll see plenty of examples. Did you know that the web site for KimKardashian.com gets more page views than the web site for Vogue? Colombia has the highest murder rate? What marekting executives measure? That solar energy currently costs 2 cents per kWh less than nuclear energy. Not facts you need every day but facts that might mean the difference between making a point and not.

Do I have to register?

No. You can access all the facts without being registered. If you want to start posting facts, you do need to register. While some future enhancements will be fee-based, the basic function of looking up facts and posting facts is free.

What's at the top of the page?

If you are using Firefox or Safari, drag the into your tool bar. Then, you can add to Factopious no matter where you are on the web.
